For Referees: Guidance on re-starting grassroots football
The UK Government has given approval for outdoor competitive grassroots football to restart, with matches permitted from Saturday, 1st August 2020. This news will bring optimism and positivity to many, but it is important to say that returning to football should only be when it’s right for you to do so. There is no pressure to return and there will be no consequence or judgement for not returning. Everyone’s health, wellbeing and safety are the priorities.
To support and inform all Referees ahead of matches restarting, referee specific guidance has been produced and is available through the links below.
I’m sure you are all looking forward to getting back out on the field to Referee. Whilst I’m looking forward to this just as much as you are, we have to return to football safely. Please find the attached documents which are the latest guidelines from The FA which should help to do that. As always, if you have any questions, please get in touch" Aaron Bannister, Football Development Officer (Referees)
