Creating Excellent Experiences For Young People
As part of our commitment to the development of coaches within the grassroots game we are hosting a CPD event aimed at supporting their understanding of how they as coaches can create excellent experiences for the young people they coach. This event is FREE for all coaches and volunteers and has been developed after the consultation undertaken with volunteers from across the workforce.
In order to engage players to engage with sport and continue to play football we as coaches need to support the development and be conscious of our own environments and coaching behaviours. This workshop will support you to make sense of your current coaching practice and how you can create the most effective environment to support the development of the young people you coach and provide excellent experiences. This will be achieved through a mixture of indoor theory and a practical observation outside on the pitch with players from Handsworth Junior Sporting Club.
Delivered by the Football Development Team and led by our Football Development Officer Ben Hardaker, who is an FA Affiliate Tutor and spent the last five years as a Skills Coach for the Football Association. This included supporting young players aged 5-11 to develop a love for the game, improve their football abilities and working with coaches and teachers to support their delivery.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 3rd October 2018, 6.30-8.30pm at Handsworth Junior Sporting Club, Olivers Mount, Sheffield, S9 4PA. You can secure your place via the following link, please note spaces are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis:
