Mental Health & Wellbeing in Football
What is Mental Health & Wellbeing in Football?
Football is not only a great way to keep physically fit but also plays an important role in supporting mental health and wellbeing by providing regular social interactions and a break from the potential other stresses and worries that you may be facing
"Poor mental health doesn’t discriminate and can affect anyone at any time. Every year, 1 person in 10 will experience depression or anxiety and the number of current and former players coming forward to seek support for their mental health continues to grow" The Professional Footballers' Association.
This page has been developed to offer advice and support to everyone across the grassroots game. We aim to help you better understand your mental health and how to support others around you. Football, and physical activity in general, is a great way to help improve mental health.
