Giuseppe La Rezza Bids Farewell to the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA

Ciao Giuseppe! Grazie for all your hard work!

After nearly three years of exceptional service as a Football Development Administrator, Giuseppe will be leaving the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, with his final day being today (Tuesday 11th March 2025).

He will be taking on the role of League Secretary at The National League U19 Alliance, where he will oversee the league’s day-to-day operations and work closely with its management committee, staff, member clubs, and stakeholders.

Before joining the County FA in July 2022, Giuseppe completed a Master’s degree in Sport Management at the University of Stirling. He has also held multiple voluntary roles in grassroots football such as registration secretary, coach and committee member.

During his time with us, Giuseppe has been instrumental in supporting grassroots football by efficiently handling queries, managing key administrative tasks and assisting with football development and business services.

Some of his standout achievements include helping 100% of accredited clubs renew their accreditation last year, processing and issuing ID cards to over 1,000 match officials, and assisting with the promotion and delivery of the Grassroots Football Awards.

Outside of work, Giuseppe’s passion for the game is evident — he volunteers as manager of Sheffield Wednesday Ladies FC U18 and Socrates Ladies FC and is an academy scout for Sheffield United FC.

Reflecting on his time here, Giuseppe said: “I’ve really enjoyed being part of such a talented staff team and gaining valuable experience in football administration.
“By interacting with league sectaries and club officials daily, one thing that is clear to me is that there are many inspirational people working tirelessly behind the scenes in this region to make grassroots football happen.

“It’s been a pleasure supporting the game and I’m grateful for the experience and the beautiful moments shared. Ciao Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA.”

On behalf of everyone at SHCFA, we extend a huge thank you to Giuseppe for his dedication and contribution to our local game.We wish him the very best in his new role.
