Outstanding Team of the Month Award
At Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, we believe positivity leads to a safer, healthier and more inclusive and enjoyable game.
That’s why we want to recognise and celebrate those junior teams that are going above and beyond to promote positivity, by showing respect and making a real difference in making football safer, more inclusive and fun for everyone.
Our new Outstanding Team of the Month award aims to shine a spotlight on these teams, with participating junior leagues in our county nominating a team and providing reasons why.
October teams of the month are as follows:
League: Doncaster & District Sunday Junior League
Outstanding Team of the Month: Pinfold Puma’s U10 girls
Doncaster & District Sunday Junior League nominated Pinfold Puma’s U10 girls. In the first game of the season, Pinfold Puma’s were quite far ahead and in order to make sure that the teams were evened up, the manager, Casey Rush, changed the team positions around. She said she wanted it to be more enjoyable for all of the girls involved from both teams. Well done Casey, a great example of focusing on the fun of football.
League: The Sheffield Women and Girls League
Outstanding Team of the Month: Hallam Rangers U12 girls
The Sheffield Women and Girls League have nominated Hallam Rangers U12 girls who received amazing feedback from Wombwell Town manager, Zoe Dawtry: “We, Wombwell Town Junior FC U12 Girls, are a new team finding our feet. Hallam Rangers U12 girls were very helpful, friendly and all parents got involved and supported each other. They even came up at the end of the game and gave our players sweets which was a lovely gesture. What a positive, amazing advertisement for girls’ football.”
League: Sheffield & District Junior Sunday league
Outstanding Team of the Month: Swinton Spartans U13 black
The nomination from Sheffield & District Junior Sunday league is Swinton Spartans U13 black. The league used the 100% RESPECT scores as well as positive referee reports as a guide to their selection. Well done Swinton Spartans, keep getting those 100% scores and being a great example of good behaviour in the game.
Each team will receive a £50 Kitlocker voucher as a reward for their nomination. Make sure your team is always showing positivity and respect to be in with a chance of being nominated by your league.
