Don’t just take our word for it; one of the Youth Councils big success stories is Alicia:

“I would not be where I am today without Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Youth Council. Before taking part in the Youth Council I was already a player, coach and referee. Been part of the Youth Council guided me to my true passion and future career in Football Development. It has been a very important step in my career and has led me in to many amazing and life changing opportunities including the chance to attend the FA National Football Futures Camp and the Youth Sport Trust National Talent Camp. From here I have then been selected to mentor on the FA National Young Coach Development Programme and then go to South Korea to mentor on the United Nations Sport Development and Peace Camp.

The Youth Council has inspired me to go out of my way and to work hard to develop the future game for the next generation. I learnt and got experience in many important aspects of football development some include the planning and running of events, communication and building relationships with key partners, managing budgets, team work, coaching and leading and delivering presentations and meetings.  I would recommend anybody who wants a career in Football Development to join their local Youth Council.”
